Coming of the Lord means He does in deed come. In other words, the second coming. If he comes for the rapture and that counts as fulfilling the words ” The Lord himself will come down from heaven.” Then, because He already came once and left, then this is by definition, is required to be the second coming.

It says we will meet him in the clouds, not that we will stay in the clouds or from there that we will go forth unto heaven. Just that we will meet him there… after the dead have arisen.

Remain doesn’t just mean to still be there hanging around it means:

The movement of the believer at the Rapture is from earth to heaven; at the Second Coming it is from heaven to earth. At the Rapture, the Lord comes for His saints (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

Thessalonians 4 ;

17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

You’ll have some trouble proving to me that heaven is just clouds. This simple mean so from this point forward we will be with the Lord.

While at the Second Coming the Lord comes with His saints (1 Thessalonians 3:13).

1 Thessalonians 3;

13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

Also in 1 Thes 3:4For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

“The post-tribulation view denies the New Testament teaching of imminency–that Christ could come at any moment–since there are intervening events required in that view. We believe there are no signs that must precede the Rapture.”

Sadly, Missler is way off here. If there were no signs, Jesus wouldn’t have given us any. This is short sighted. If Jesus had chosen not to give us signs, then He could have come back without them. But Jesus the truth and the light and as such, He isn’t a liar. If He were a liar, then any right minded Christian would have to rethink his Faith.

The truth is Jesus will return when the Father wills it. Christ didn’t know the day or the hour of his return, which isn’t even to go as far as saying He didn’t know the month or the year… but regardless, had there been no sign given, we could expect Him at any moment, but since signs were given we must await those signs as proof of his coming.

We were warned that many would come in his name. The signs given were done so to prove the authenticity of His return. Not that at the moment of the Second Coming anyone anywhere will need proof, but to debunk any that might come in His name prior to His return.

The post-tribulation view has difficulties with who will populate the Millennium⁴ if the Rapture and the Second Coming occur at essentially the same time. Since all believers will be translated at the Rapture and all unbelievers are judged, because no unrighteous shall be allowed to enter Christ’s Kingdom, then no one would be left in mortal bodies to start the population base for the Millennium.

So we are told who will rise and live during the Millennium, it will be those who died during the tribulation. The unrighteous are not judged until after the Millennial Reign. Those that live with Christ are priests, it doesn’t seem likely then that they are just floating around in the clouds.

We aren’t given every detail of the end times in Revelation. That’s why there is so much “confusion” about what is going to transpire. Many things will occur that are not recorded. Only through pride can we maintain that we not only know who will populate the Millennium, but also that we can at all understand, let alone comprehend every nuance. Perhaps God will repopulate the Earth. I can speculate with the best of them, but I’m of no authority to tell anyone anything. This is for God to know. Just because a detail isn’t written doesn’t mean we need to force things that have nothing at all whatsoever to do with a topic into meaning something must occur so as to make it “understandable” according to what we know. There’s far more that we don’t know than we do.

Similarly, post-tribulationism is not able to explain the sheep and goats judgment after the Second Coming in Matthew 25:3- 46. Where would the believers in mortal bodies come from if they are raptured at the Second Coming? Who would be able to enter into Christ’s Kingdom?

Again Revelation 20 tells us this occurs, not after the rapture or at the beginning of the Millenium, but after. The unrighteous dead aren’t raised or judged at the second coming, but AFTER the Millenium. After they are judged, then we have the new Heaven and the New Earth in Revelation 21.

The Bride of Christ, the church, is made ready to accompany Christ to earth (Revelation 19:7-8, 14) before the Second Coming, but how could this reasonably happen if part of the church is still on the earth awaiting the Second Coming? If the Rapture of the church takes place at the Second Coming, then how does the Bride (the church) also come with Christ at His Return?

Even if there is a rapture, then part of the Church is on Earth which invalidates this whole point. The 144,000 are on the Earth and are certainly a part of the wedding “Festivities”.

1Th 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.We are not appointed unto wrath!!!No, but read the whole sentence. The wrath here is a wrath that would deprive man of salvation. This is not physical wrath, but spiritual wrath, in that… God has no appointed us to die the second death, or to burn in Hell, but rather… that we have been given the chance to obtain Salvation through Christ. The true reason is that the Tribulation period is not for the Church, it is for Israel in order to fulfill prophecy, and for nonbelievers to be judged if they refuse to repent.Non-believers are judged at the time of the second resurrection.Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

While we as Christians should expect to be persecuted, and could even be martyred for our faith, the period of the Tribulation is a time of God’s wrath. Why would he pour out His wrath on His Church? He pours out His wrath on unbelievers in order to get their attention.

So does that then mean that no Christian will be killed during the Tribulation? Or are those Christians just not part of the “Church”?

Revelation 19:2 states “For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.”

Men are not judged until the second resurrection.

Regarding the Church of Philadelphia, which also represents the true Bible-believing church today, Jesus says “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth”.

10Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Perhaps… this is not the Church of Philadelphia, but rather the church of the Laodiceans, in which case, the Church of Philadelphia was spared from having to go through the Tribulation.

The Bible says we do not know the hour of His coming - it will be sudden and unexpected. (Matt. 24:44) and Christ will come “as a thief in the night” (1 Thes.5:2) - If the Lord doesn’t come for the Church till after the tribulation, how can this be unexpected?

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Personally, I’m expecting it to happen, so if Jesus didn’t want us to expect it, then He wouldn’t have bothered telling us about it. What Jesus said is, no man.. no one but the Father knew the day or the hour. That’s not to say the week, month, or year. However, as we were given signs, we would know as the time draws near.

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

8All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

PLEASE NOTE… NOAH and his family KNEW ABOUT THE FLOOD THAT WAS COMING.

40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Also, the Church is absent in Revelation 4-18. It’s mentioned 17 times in the first 3 chapters. But, after that John is called up to Heaven and looks down on events during the Tribulation. The church is not mentioned again until chapter 19, when she returns to the earth with her Bridegroom.

Since there is no text that tells me “So as you John we called up to Heaven, so shall be the church” I can’t make that comparison. Its an observation and could be an assumption, but I see no way to reconcile this.

As for the Church… and I can only speculate, so this is my take on things. Certainly nothing I would even think about fighting over but… Revelation 12, to me anyway is talking about the Church which is now centralized in it’s rightful place… it’s now the Church of Judah/Israel.

Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

I believe that John represents the church in Rev 4:1-2.Where/why are we to replace the church with John, unless trying to prove a Rapture?
