January 9 As President Bush’s was landing in Tel Aviv, Israel at the beginning of his Middle East tour, a 70-vehicle holocaust began in Florida due to a bush fire. President Bush arrived in Israel shortly before noon (5 AM EST). The mass wreck began in Florida on Interstate 4 near Lakeland at 4:45 AM EST. Four people were killed and 33 were taken to area hospitals. Six cars were completely burned along with 2 tractor trailers. Fourteen miles of I-4 were closed.President Bush went to Israel to push his peace agenda between Israel and the Palestinians. They are all supposed to make an all-out effort to negotiate a peace deal by the end of 2008. The President plans to meet with both Israeli and Palestinian leadership.
The holocaust on Florida’s Interstate 4 (I-4) involved about 70 vehicles in 10 separate wrecks along a two-mile stretch east of Lakeland between State Road 33 and County Road 557. The cause was fog mixed with dense smoke from a bush fire just to the south of where an earlier 10-acre controlled burn got loose and burned about 400 acres. It all began shortly before 5 AM EST. Deputy, Carlton Turner, 26, got a call at 4:45 AM of wreck on I-4. He said he drove into the wall of smoke and fog, and his car was struck three times by others.
Ten tornados were reported in the US on both sides of the Mississippi River in Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Missouri. One person was killed in the first tornado, which was between Appleton and Jerusalem, Arkansas.

Yes, it has all been rather scary to watch……..a freak mid winter Tornado outbreak in the USA, a once in 50 year probability, on jan. the 8th, the day bush leaves Dc on his misguided mission to Israel , and come on !! one of the tornados rips through an obscure town in Arkansas called Jerusalem !! Destroying the main church in the town, knocking over tombstones in the church cemetary, killing one person there locally and making world news via CNN and the internet. Now I am afraid, and I hope and pray I am wrong, seriously, I do, that all this is just a small prequel and sign of what may be coming…

Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has been killed by a suicide bomber. An aide said she was driving away from a campaign rally just minutes after addressing thousands of supporters when the attack took place.
The attacker struck just minutes after Bhutto addressed a rally of thousands of supporters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
There were conflicting accounts over the sequence of events.
Rehman Malik, Bhutto’s security adviser, said she was shot in the neck and chest by the attacker, who then blew himself up.
But a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, told state-run Pakistan Television that Bhutto died when a suicide bomber struck her vehicle.
At least 20 others were killed in the blast.
Bhutto was rushed to Rawalpindi General Hospital and taken into emergency surgery.
A member of Bhutto’s party who was at the hospital said she died just after 6 p.m.
