Israel Planning Moat to End Arms Smuggling From Egypt

Israel is planning to build a moat along it’s border with Egypt in the hopes that it would put an end to arms smuggling and the free flow of Islamic militants entering the Jewish state, usually through tunnels that connect Sinai to the Gaza Strip.  

The proposal would see the construction of a giant moat along the 14-kilometer Egyptian and Israeli border. The Israeli military believes there are at least 30 arms smuggling tunnels that connect Sinai to the Gaza Strip.
