Hugo Chaves Nuclear Future For Venezuela, Wants Russia to Challenge America

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez hinted that Venezuela will likely try to become a nuclear power. Chavez made the statement while visiting Vladimir Putin in RussiaChavez also went on to defend Iran’s right to pursue its nuclear program.

Chavez, in Russia to secure series of arms deals called on Russia to challenge America’s superpower status as part of a new revolution against the “tyranny” of Washington.

“They don’t want Russia to keep rising,” he said, referring to America. “But Russia has risen again as a center of power and we, the people of the world, need Russia to become stronger.

“We should remember Vladimir Lenin and come back to his ideas, especially when it comes to anti-imperialism.”
