House of Representatives Fight Over Tally on Federal Funding Undocumented Illegal Immigrants via Agricultural Spending Bill
In a a scene that looked more like an angry mob than it did America’s House of Representatives, House Republicans and Democrats went at it hot and heavy when the Democrats tried to cheat the Republicans out of victorious vote involving undocumented immigrants receiving federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Democratic Rep. Michael R. McNulty of New York gaveled close the vote on the bill, with the outcome of the vote still in doubt.
Several Republicans argued that they had secured a 215-213 win on their motion to bar undocumented immigrants from accessing federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance. Democrats then argued that the bill was deadlocked at 214-214 and failed to pass.
A GOP aide claims to have seen McNulty gavel the vote to a close, but he failed to read aloud the official tally. Oddly, voting continued to shift even after the roll call.
Republicans and then Democrats exploded as Democratic leaders tried to sneak in a “solution”, that would of course alter the outcome of the initial vote.
As Democratic Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer offered a motion to reconsider, but angry Republican protests rang out loudly, crying aloud, “shame” on Democrats, who then took part in the chaotic mob scene.
Eventually the House Democrats moved to consider the spending bill as the final vote of the night, and the disgusted and disenfranchised Republicans stormed out of the chamber to protest the maneuver.
While the House recessed at 11:18 p.m, Republicans quickly discovered that there was no longer any record of the vote and as such charged Democrats with erasing the results which they didn’t like.
“Obviously, the Democrats don’t want to stand up against illegal immigration, so much so that they’re willing to cheat in order to win a vote,” Republican Rep. Patrick McHenryof North Carlina said. “They’re desperate and it shows.”
Watch the video of the Congressional fight or rather, near riot, over the Democrats’ attempt at overturning a vote that would have banned undocumented immigrants from accessing federal funds apportioned in the agricultural spending bill for employment or rental assistance.
I also want to add that last week, the Q Files Talk Radio Host Steve Quayle predicted that we would soon see infighting in Congress reach such a boiling point that fist fights would break out. It may have sounded strange at the time, however as usual Steve Quayle was right on the money.
As a long time listener of the Q Files, I would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to Steve on the passing of his mother. Steve and his family are in my prayers. I ask all of you to keep them in yours as well.
